Pair Up NYC is a project that the students of InSITE are spearheading with the help of the Advisors. The impetus for the project comes from seeing the New York Tech community developing into a bustling hotbed of innovation. We want to facilitate the process of finding and meeting great people who may not have crossed paths before.
With the help of industry-leading Advisors, the ultimate goal is to create Pairs with similar interests but complimentary skill sets who have the potential of working on/starting something together.
The Advisors will help Pair people together as well play a mentorship role should the Pair embark on an entrepreneurial journey together.
How Pair Up is different from other “find another founder” events in New York City:
- Advisors will draw upon their networks to recommend top talent
- Matches are made prior to the event, so there are at least a few people that the attendees need to meet. Laying that out beforehand will be critical to making the Pair Up productive
- Involvement by the Advisors will motivate the attendees and encourage all parties to stay involved and motivated
- Pairing up people who come from very different backgrounds who may not have crossed paths
